I finally went to watch Beauty and the Beast at the movies, I really wanted to see this movie I was quite curious to know if it would reach my expectations, since I love the original. I have to say that I loved it, it was everything I expected and more.
I was so mesmerized by the film that, although I already knew the story, whenever something happened I almost jumped in my seat. I found myself singing the songs that were part of my childhood, luckily the cinema was empty so I could sing and scream that no one would listen to me.
In my opinion, they managed to keep the story true to the original, with minor changes that fit perfectly and made the story a little more “realistic”. The effects are absolutely brilliant, the Beast is very realistic, the alive objects really give life to the film. The castle is stunning, I do not know what is real and what is effects, I just know that the end result is wonderful.
The score stays true to the original film while updated with several new songs. The film was directed by Bill Condon, screenplay written by Stephen Chbosky and Evan Spiliotopoulos and co-produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Mandeville Films. The original Disney‘s animated film, with the same name, was released in 1991, I was 1 year old, oh god!
The cast includes: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston; Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s sidekick; Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.
Visit this site of the movie, it’s so cool. If you haven’t seen the movie yet and you like the original I advise you to watch it, here is the trailer to leave you a little thirsty:
